The Silver Bayonet Has Captured Me
There are a handful of games that have really captured my imagination. I remember back in 2020, Necromunda did just that, but it wasn’t until I saw the 3D side of it. In truth, I had no interest in the game as a top down 2D setting, but when I saw the Dark Uprising box and felt the urge to recreate gangs fighting in a 3D world I was hooked!
Things just started to make sense for me. The lore and setting came to life. I was building a battlefield that gangers would live, fight and die on. Moreover, your choices matter from game to game. Each game is a progression, intricately linked with choices that dictate what future games will be like. Not many games give me a feeling like I had back in 2020.
Enter The Silver Bayonet, a Napoleonic gothic horror by Joseph A. McCullough, the creator of Frostgrave, Stargrave and Rangers of Shadow Deep to name a few. While I’ve never played these games I find myself once again being drawn to something. I have that feeling to create again; to create a world where characters live, fight and die! It’s this passionate feeling that I recall so fondly from years ago hitting me once again. It drives my desire to tell stories with well painted miniatures and scenery.
Once again, I hope you join me on this journey as we play The Silver Bayonet. It’s going to be a story like nothing we’ve told before.
